CRITICAL WEEK

FOUR DAYS A WEEK

A four-day week? That was one of the first things we ask when we decided to revive the tradition of organizing the Critics' Week, which had seven successful editions but failed to do in 2005. Or do we put the "Weekend Critic? Finally, outweighed the desire to return to the name we had installed (not invented it, it's true) and make a four-day week, although, strange but fortunately, with the most traditional films.

There are several changes in this edition. In addition to a new headquarters, the Cosmos Film / UBA, with hope that you've regained its glory as a major independent cinema hall in Buenos Aires, over four days we will show nine movies, with lots of local previews and even a world premiere, which is unusual for a festival small and these characteristics. FIPRESCI

stands (always complicated to pronounce) of the Federation of Film Critics, and the Argentina subsidiary of such entity is the organizer of the week. FIPRESCI is a federation of associations of critics over 60 countries and has presence in about 70 festivals a year, in delivering the FIPRESCI Prize, for many known and "the critic's prize."

As part of the Critics' Week, and following another tradition, the opening will be delivered the prizes to the best movies of last year, between the Argentine and international premieres. With an addition: the last day of the show will exhibit Argentina winning film.

So welcome, once again, the Critics' Week, which in its eighth edition offers a combo of independent Argentine cinema, two very good films "art films" international and a very special horror for Saturday night. And we are proud to present world premiere, Al end life goes on, like, the new film by Raúl Perrone, one of the most important and influential independent filmmakers from Argentina.
